How and Why I Made the Comics

Here's the deal...

I recently became aware of Comic Weekly Man, the radio series from the late 1940's that ran into the early 1950.

After listening to it a while I thought, "Man this is neat!  But it would be much cooler if I could actually see the comics!"  This is of course the way it was originally planned out to begin with.  Kids would sit around on a Sunday morning, turn on Comic Weekly Man and at the same time, read the "funny paper" (or that's what we used to call them when I was a kid.)

So, being the newspaper hound that I am, set off to find Puck's Comic section.  It took less than 5 minutes.  So I started listening to the show and reading the comics.

Then my friend Barry (a comic book nut, himself) said something to me like, "You know, a video of the two together would be better."

I could make a video of the two but would they synch up?  I had no idea how to do that!  But after a little digging and the right software (which I am getting better at and learning more about every day) I just jumped right in.

What came out is what you see in the earlier comics I produced.  Less than a week after I started making them, I feel like it's a breeze.

It's like Sunday morning 1950 all over again.
